Sally, well she is basically a knock-out. Steven is nothing but heart. Together they make a beautiful, fun and completely sweet couple. I was thrilled to be apart of their day, thanks to Jay Kelly. Jay asked if I could come along and help him out, this was my first time shooting with him but I am always up for working with new photographers. As it turns out, not only is Jay an amazing photographer, but he is a blast to shoot with. Thanks for having me along Jay!

Steven doing his happy dance. Sally laughing in the back ground. I could hardly keep my face straight long enough to snap this one. It just proves that people will do just about anything if they think a good photo will come out of it.

The reception was at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. It was my first time at this venue, I didn't anticipate the fantastic party that would be happening in this room.

One of my favorite parts of the evening, the belly dance. I had never seen a belly dancer before. Oh man was that fun. Now if only I can figure out how to make my body move like that. If you have ever seen me dance (if you are a wedding client you probably have) you know that my moves are somewhat limited to two signature moves. If you haven't seen me dance, well, you should ask =)

Sally and Steven, thank you for letting me be part of your day. I wish you the best and...keep dancing!

When I photographed Kate and Russell's Lovers Point Engagement Session I was pretty sure that they were going to have a beautiful wedding. Kate is all about relationships, it was clear by the family and friends that obviously adored her and Russell.

Kate a Russell had a perfect day. They were married on the first tee at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey. Kate was radiant, Russell was beaming. It was a beautiful day and I was so happy to be a part of it. Shelly came along to help me out, as always we had a great time.

Their stars are perfectly aligned. The first time they spoke on the phone Stephen told Jeni just that. He said to her, 'I would marry you sight unseen.'  this was the first time they had spoken. It has been several years since that first phone call and while he didn't exactly marry her sight unseen, it is true that their stars are aligned and now, at last they are married.

Jeni and Stephen had a little city hall ceremony, and then invited me to photograph their reception where they blew out the walls. After a portrait shoot at the Morcom Rose Garden, We Headed to Berkeley Marina and then to  Hs. Lordships where the reception was held. It was a stunning setting with San Francisco as a backdrop to a room filled with all of the people the Jeni and Stephen love the most.

The day was planned down to the minute, it went mostly as planned. The food was amazing, the room was perfectly decorated and Jeni and Stephen wowed their guests with a fully choreographed dance routine. Jeni and Stephen repeated their vows in front of their loved ones. Jeni didn't speak her vows, but she sang them to her best friend and the room full of guests. And she did a lovely job of it.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of the day, be sure to see the video. There is a link at the bottom of this page.

Jeni and Stephen, thank you so much for including me in your day. You are a sweet couple and I am so happy to know you as clients and now, as friends. I wish you all the best!

When Jason and Katie asked me to photograph their wedding in the Bahamas I couldn't say no. I mean, who says no to a wedding in the Bahamas? It was a BEAUTIFUL location. I had no idea what to expect when I was on my way to the Atlantis. To call the Atlantis a hotel, even to call it a resort is an under statement. The Atlantis is a theme park on an island. The aquarium is huge and the water slides were amazing. I have the bruises to prove it. By the time we left the island I was so water logged from spending 5 days in the water I was pretty sure my fingers and toes would stay in a permanent state of prune. Jason and Katie's wedding was beautiful despite a few mishaps along the way. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the company of their 43 guests. A pretty great turn out for a destination wedding.

It's so nice that you gave us photos that capture the beauty that I didn't even notice while I was busy watching the action. Thank you for capturing wonderful moments and light that I totally missed. I love reliving the event without all the noise and distractions. It was so nice having you there with us too!

His friends gave him a firm hand shake and a congratulations and then left Brendon alone to wait nervously for his bride.  He waited for her down by the pond. The champagne was on ice, the glasses careful placed. Their first look was going to be perfect. The car drove up and his bride got out, anxious to see her husband-to be. Heather excitedly walked to him trying to hold back the tears.

The decision see one another before the ceremony is one that I have been trying to encourage for my couples. Being able to have a quiet moment alone before the ceremony can be very special. I have yet to have a single couple regret the decision. Not only do they get to share an intimate moment alone, we are free to get images of the bride and groom and their wedding party done before the ceremony, allowing them time to enjoy their cocktail party with their guests.

This is a wedding that I photographed with Sybrand Cille in South Africa. The ceremony site was stunning, at La Terra De Luc in Franschhoek. The Rose garden and the morning light was beautiful.
