I love applesauce and extra sharp cheddar cheese. I put the applesauce in a bowl and slice up the cheese and line up the sticks around the outside of the bowl. I then use the cheese sticks like little spoons  to scoop up the applesauce. I love it especially when the applesauce is really cold.

The reason that I love the cheese in the applesauce is more than just because it is a fantastic combination (which it is). The real reason that I love the this special combination goes back to when I was just a little girl. Being the littlest of three I had to go to bed first. It just didn't seem fare. Well, what my brothers didn't know was that after they went to bed my mom would sneak into my room and bring me into the living room. We would both sit on the floor and have a midnight snack of cheese and applesauce. It is not something that happened every night, but I do remember that it happened. I felt so special to be up past my bed time, all alone with my mom, eating cheese and applesauce. I suppose it is those little memories that make growing up so special. It is moments like these that shape us as individuals. Yes, I will probably always like cheese and applesauce. But what is more, I also know how important it is to make other people feel special. And especially, I know how important it is to let your daughter stay up past her bed time every once in a while.
